Okefenokee Adventures is pleased to announce that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has again awarded us the visitor services concession contract for the primary Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge entrance at Suwannee Canal. Thanks to all of our visitors and friends who have supported us these past 10 years. We look forward to many more years of sharing this wonderful wilderness with you.

It’s Summer in the Okefenokee!
→ What to expect and how to prepare. ←
Alligators are mating and the females will begin building their nests in June. You may see them basking in the sun along the canal and in the prairies and may even be lucky enough to hear their low grumbling bellows. The prairies are awash in the colors of spring and early summer flowers such as water lilies, blue flag iris, yellow bladderwort, and white ladies hatpins. Herons, egrets, ibis and sandhill cranes are some of the usual birds seen feeding in the grasses along the boat trails.
Head out on your own or join us for one of our regularly scheduled 90-minute tours. Call for information or to make reservations for our extended and overnight wilderness excursions.
Due to lower than normal water levels, rental motor boats are currently only available to folks wanting to fish along the canal.
After your visit, please come back and sign our Guest Book and tell us about your Okefenokee Adventure.
We’re proud to let you know that we were the Georgia Wildlife Federation 2005 Conservation Educators of the Year!
Okefenokee Swamp has been nominated to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Click on links below for details.
